The beautiful boys you will find in our pedigrees…
Alinex Ask For The Moon "Ziggy"
Ziggy lives with his “big sister” Ellie (Alinex Take The High Road) and their amazing family in the hills to the east of Melbourne. We get to see his family often. Many hours have been spent sipping coffee and sharing stories of the amazing qualities of this dog.
Ziggy is an affectionate and passionate friend of his people. To be around him is to feel loved.
We began to show Ziggy but quickly realised that his tightly curled coat and the “matching” curly tail made the effort pointless. Thankfully Ziggy’s first litters proved we could breed through these quirks. We expect a Ziggy son to represent his Dad in the showring in the first half of 2023.
Ziggy is a spectacular dog. His coat is extremely silky and soft. He moves out beautifully thanks to his powerful driving rear and his upstanding posture. He has a stunning big head inherited from his Dad Ralph. He is a living treasure.
His first litters were confident, happy, loving puppies; humorous and cheerful without a hint of reactivity or malice. We think Ziggy will be a great boost to the breed in Australia.
BISS Broomsquires Eamon
“Angus”
Angus is the goofy hero of our kennel. The son of our Specialty Winning import Captain, Angus won Best Exhibit In Show at the SCWT Club of Victoria breed specialty show. It was his third time ever in the show ring and he needed no prompting to bring his best for the judge. Even more charming was that his daughter Rosie was there to win Best Baby Puppy in Show right behind him – her first day ever in the ring. Angus has a signature slow-maturing American coat which is developing an amazing wave and shine. He is everything we love.
Druidsglen Captain’s Table
“Paddy”
The firstborn Aussie son of Captain, we adore this boy who left us far too early. Paddy was the best mate of our dear friend Di and we are so grateful to him for the joy, the affection, and the blusterous good humor that he poured into our hearts by the bucketfull. Paddy produced one litter of wonderful puppies for us before we lost him to an accident. We have his DNA stored in liquid nitrogen and hope that one day down the track another preposterously positive boy will fill his pawprints.
US CH Bradberry’s Houston We Have Lift Off.
“Houston”
Imported from the USA
While all hell was breaking loose across the planet in the form of COVID 19, a dream was coming true for us and the Alinex team. This amazing boy and his sister were born in June 2019 and were lovingly raised by their amazing breeder Deb Van De Ven. Houston and Harper learned the ways of the chilled-out tribe of sweet, kind Wheatens for which Deb is famous. Their show careers were delayed but they got one magical weekend of shows before they left the USA and they thrilled us with their wins. Houston got his USA Championship with three back to back five point major wins in that one weekend. In December 2020 Houston and Harper finally got a place on a government-sponsored pet-repatriation flight to Melbourne. They got out of quarantine ten days later and quickly snuggled their way into our hearts. We feel so blessed to have them in our family.
BIS (BBE) US CH Tara I Get Around “Seamus”
(Frozen semen import from the USA)
Bred and owned by Cecily Skinner and co-owned with Celeste Lassiter Sokoloff, Seamus calls California home. His beautiful structure, temperament, and eye-catching coat are the result of several generations of Cecily’s highly awarded breeding. He has had extraordinary success as a show dog, and is an adored family companion with a steady, confident temperament. We are so grateful to Cecily for the opportunity to use Seamus as one of our AI sires. Seamus is the sire of our amazing girls Penny and Lilly. Both have been highly acclaimed by all breeds judges.
Alinex I Was Led To The River
“George”
DOB 20th April 2022
George has the dramatic good looks of his father Houston. In temperament he is very similar to the lovable and goofy Angus, bringing a sweet devotion to all his relationships.
George’s hopes of a show career were ruined from the beginning by that curly tail so he lives a wonderful life with a sweet family of six on a beautiful old farming property.
Whatever the day’s activity, George is happy with his people. Click here for some photos of him helping truck water around his family’s sheep and cattle station.
George is a moderate size boy with an adult weight of just under 15kgs. He is beautifully put together with an amazing short back, beautiful depth of chest and spring of rib.
He is “upstanding” and has the posture and movement of a spirited young stallion but has no terrier fire at all. He is love, devotion, and the goofiest sense of fun.
George’s coat is beautifully soft and a rich deep golden colour which he has inherited from his Dad Houston.
We are hoping to breed a showdog son and daughter of George (without the curly tail) and in the process expect he will sire some family pals as loving and goofy as he is.
US GR CH Saddlebrook’s It All Started With a Big Bang “Bazinga”
(Frozen semen import from the USA)
Bazinga is owned by Jinx Moore and lives with her in Missouri, USA. I had the absolute joy of spending a weekend with Bazinga in the USA and he is definitely a charming gentleman. He achieved Grand Champion status and is famous at home for his snuggly, stable temperament. He is closely down from several very significant Wheatens. We have only one go at getting puppies from this guy so we are being careful to breed exactly the right girl for him and making sure she is a great mum before we go for it, but the best things are worth waiting for.
Alinex Made To Measure
“Patrick”
DOB 2nd Nov 2022
Alinex Frame By Frame
“Ralph”
DOB 11th March 2020
Ralph and his littermates were born just as the COVID pandemic was changing life forever. My plan to show him vanished as Melbourne Vic got locked down for what felt like a very long time. Thankfully we found him the most wonderful family who wrapped their hearts around this precious boy. We have loved every moment of the journey with them. Ralph is both grand and beautiful and has a temperament of gold to match his exquisite soft coat.
US and Aust CH BISS Stratford Captain America Down Under “Captain”
Imported from the USA
Captain was kindly raised for us by Molly O’Connell in Colorado. He was a wonderful performer in the showring and definitely took our life with Wheatens to the next level. Captain won a Victorian Breed Specialty show, becoming the second of our four breed specialty winners. He also produced specialty winners; son Angus followed in his footsteps and a daughter in Canada achieved the same. Captain is retired now and loves his couch time and watching movies as much as he ever loved the showring. Captain inspired us to do everything we possibly can to make sure poeple get an equable Wheaten pal with a heart of gold.
