Guardian Homes
Wheatens develop their identity around the idea that they are the heartbeat of their family. Both physically and emotinally they like to be “where it’s at”.
In order to maximise the well being of all our dogs, our show and breeding dogs are placed with families of their own at a young age. Then, like the happy companions they are born to be, these dogs become the heart and soul of a family. Equally important when they spend time with us for grooming, shows, or raising puppies, the visiting adults feel like they are still the epicenter of life in our home.
We need about two new guardian homes a year. Guardian puppies are placed free of charge. Guardian families will have an ongoing relationship with us for up to five years, although often your girl is retired and “free and clear” before her fourth birthday.
We look for guardian families who have someone working from home or working part time. We have guardian dogs up to five hours drive away. Of course we loive it when they are close but the main thing we care about is the level of devotion they get.
